授業概要 | This course is designed to be an overview of contemporary Japanese society in the context of globalization. Throughout the course, we explore critical issues in today’s Japanese society with a focus on the topics surrounding work, education, gender, and population. By engaging with critical issues and looking at data, students will deepen their knowledge of Japan from an international perspective by understanding the changes that have occurred and the existing challenges in contemporary Japanese society. |
授業のねらい・到達目標 | You will be expected to critically engage with both scholarly discussions as well as basic statistics on various topics in Japanese society, and demonstrate your understanding through your assignments and participation in class. この科目は文理学部のDP及びCP1に対応しています。この科目は文理学部のディプロマポリシーDP2, 3, 6, 及びカリキュラムポリシーCP2, 3, 6に対応している。(A-2-2, A-3-2, A-6-2). |

授業の方法 | Students learn to read academic and media texts in English and communicate on the topic. Via Blackboard, students have access to reading materials and need to submit assignments. Students need to attend classes and participate in discussions. The final essay also needs to be submitted via Blackboard. 毎週授業に出席し、ディスカッションに参加する。Blackboardを通して教材を配信するが、事前に受講生はその教材を学修し、所定の方法で課題の解答やエッセーを提供する。課題やエッセーのフィードバックは毎回ブラックボードで行う。また、授業に欠席する場合は、必ず教員の許可を得ること。対面参加ができない場合は、事前に教員の許可を得てズームでのリモート参加と課題提出が可能。フィードバックは毎回Blackboardにて提供される。 |
