授業テーマ Through listening to and speaking on high interest topics, students will improve their oral fluency, listening skill and cross cultural awareness.
授業のねらい・到達目標 This course is designed to promote students’ intellectual and emotional stimulation through topics such as extreme sports, eco-tourism and advertising. In addition to engaging the students’ interests, activities will include group discussions, vocabulary building, pronunciation practice critical thinking tasks and oral presentations.
授業の方法 Fluency, accuracy, vocabulary, critical thinking, pronunciation and independent project work will all be taught through three topics. Each topic includes 2 contrasting listening selections in which students will listen for main ideas, details and make inferences. Students will integrate the content from the two listening tasks through oral production exercises. Each unit can culminate in a sustained individual or group speaking task, and/or an achievement test.
