授業テーマ	「生きた」英語によるコミュニケーション
授業のねらい・到達目標	「英語1」は、聞く・話すという、音声言語としてのコミュニケーション能力を培うことを目標としています。母国語習得過程を振り返っても十分理解できるように、言語は思ったり感じたりすることを話し、これを聞いて理解するものとして発達してきました。英語によく耳を傾け、おおよその内容を理解できるようになること、自分が相手に伝えようとすることを英語で即座に表現できること、そうしたコミュニケーション能力を高めていくことがこの授業のねらいです。
授業の方法	「英語1」は、ネイティブ・スピーカーの教員および一部のクラスでは日本人教員が担当します。言語の基本的なメディアである、音声によるコミュニケーションを中心に授業を行います。文字という視覚に頼りがちな傾向を改め、「生きた英語」に触れながら、十分な音声によるコミュニケーションが行える能力を養うよう授業を行います。この授業で最も大切なことは、毎時間、教員の「生きた英語」に接することです。学生諸君の積極的な授業参加が望まれます。臆することなく、積極的に参加すれば、得るものが大きい授業です。
履修条件	①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。 ②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。 ③「英語1」（前期）と「英語2」（後期）は同一教員による同一時限のクラスを受講すること。 ④卒業に必要な外国語科目として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科目を履修すること。
事前学修・事後学修，授業計画コメント	短い間隔で定期的に小テストを行う為、日常的に復習をすること。

4	Quiz #1 This quiz will cover Ch.2 of the textbook. Preparation: P.8-12.
5	Ch. 5 I come from a big family. Talking about family. Using the present continuous tense. Preparation: P.30-32.
6	Ch. 5 I come from a big family. (Part 2) Talking about family. Using the present continuous tense. Using quantifiers. Preparation: P.32-34.
7	Quiz #2 This quiz will cover Ch.2 and Ch.5 of the textbook. Preparation: P.8-12 & P.30-34.
8	Ch. 6 How often do you exercise? Talking about sports. Using adverbs of frequency to talk about routines. Preparation: P.36-38.

成績評価の方法及び基準	平常点(20%)、Quizzes(80%) Students are allowed 3 absences per semester. Students who are absent 4 or more times will receive a failing grade. Being up to 15 minutes late will count as a tardy; anything later than that will count as an absence. Being late to class twice will count as 1 absence. Not bringing a textbook to class will count as 1 tardy.
