授業テーマ | The final semester of Academic English continues academic writing skills in the first three weeks with writing a research essay. |

授業のねらい・到達目標 | The semester is again divided into the Writing Unit, the Linguistics Unit, and the Literature Unit. |
授業の方法 | Writing Unit Students learn the basics of writing a 3-page research essay. Linguistics Unit Students read a passage on global English, and answer comprehension questions about the passage. They will also discuss relevant themes, carry out vocabulary and grammar exercises, perform interpretive tasks, and write a 3- or 4-page research essay. Literature Unit Students read two short stories, complete vocabulary and grammar tasks, then perform interpretive tasks that require students to respond to the theme and conflicts, and prepare a dramatization and a group presentation. |
