| 授業テーマ | To help students further develop strategies for effective communication. |

| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | A major portion of the first term will be spent improving listening and developing a more active vocabulary. Topics for conversation and communication are listed below. The class will also rely on outside material from broadcast media (the Internet, radio, TV, etc). If time permits, a special section on English dialects will be included at the end of the term. |
| 授業の方法 | This will be a very informal class, but students need to prepare for class. Most of preparatory work can be done via Blackboard 9 (BB9). |

| 成績評価の方法及び基準 | 試験(50%)、平常点(10%)、Online blogs, group work, classroom participation, assignments, discussions and exercises.(20%)、Other(20%) Outside of class work will be held via Blackboard 9. Students will need to know how access the campus internet to participate in blogs, journals, group work, homework assignments, and online discussions. Permission to access the campus internet is issued by the computer center. Students may use either their personal computers or one of the campus computers to access BB9. |
