英語学演習１

授業テーマ	Students will become familiar with the influences of culture and society on second language acquisition and English language teaching.Students will also learn the importance of paralinguistics in communicating effective simple messages to large groups of people
授業のねらい・到達目標	This is a course in sociolinguistics and oral communication presentation skills. In other words, students will become familiar with how societies and culture can affect language teaching and learning a second language in both positive and negative ways. Another aim of the course is to give students a practically oriented approach to applying the sociolinguistic theories, principles and skills in the ELT classroom.Finally, students will learn effective strategies for communicating the ideas they learn in class to large groups of people.
授業の方法	The aspects of sociolinguistics will be introduced through various readings and the teacher's lectures. Students will then reflect on the material and explore and share their own personal experiences with learning a second language and culture through their writings and discussions. Finally, students will demonstrate their understanding of the material with a essays and oral presentations.
